Maria Krestinskaya started to study violin at 7 with Georgy Tagauri. Maria has graduated from the Musical Lyceum of N. A. Rimsky‐Korsakov (class of Nelly R. Sklyarskaya) and Saint Petersburg State Conservatoire (class of Vladimir Yu. Ovcharek).
Since 1998 Maria studies authentic performance practice with Marie Leonhardt (Netherlands), Andrey Reshetin and the ‘Musica Petropolitana’ ensemble. Maria is a winner of numerous international competitions and participant of many festivals, e. g. Concertino Praga (Czech Republic), Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists (Lithuania), International Glazunov Competition in Paris. She received a grant of Rostropovich‐Vishnevskaya Foundation.
As a baroque violinist, Maria participated in the EARLYMUSIC festival (Saint Petersburg), Utrecht Oude Muziek (Netherlands), Muzikfestspiele Sans‐Souci (Germany), Vantaa Early Music Festival (Finland), Boston Early Music Festival (U. S.). Since 2002 she played in the ‘Orchestra of Katherine the Great’ and the ensemble ‘Soloists of Katherine the Great’ directed by Andrey Reshetin.
Maria participated in master‐classes of Marie Leonhardt, Andrew Manze, Monica Huggett, Peter van Heyghen, Andrew Lawrence‐King.
Maria performed as a soloist with Michael Chance, Paul O’Dette, Stephen Stubbs, Phoebe Carrai, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Bob van Asperen and Dmitry Sinkowsky.
