Petri Arvo (born 1982) has specialised in recorders and historical woodwinds of the early Renaissance to the early Baroque. The virtuosic fore-father of the bassoon and various recorders are one of the most flexible and exciting woodwinds to interpret the improvisatory music of this time, which most often is based on popular tunes or chorals.
Arvo is a Master of Music graduated from Sibelius Academy. He also studied in Amsterdam and Brussels conservatories. Arvo works as a musician in a variety of musical fields from medieval to contemporary music, from chamber and orchestral musician to producer.
Arvo’s current associates are among others The Royal Wind Music, Ensemble Nylandia, Ensemble Un’altra ondata and Café Barock. Arvo is working on theatrical comteporary chamber and solo programs as well.
