Due Oratori & Ensemble La Bande

Ensemble Due Oratori was founded in autumn 2016 at the Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten
(HKU) in Utrecht where Antje Becker and Ondřej Kryštof Bernovský were studying Historical Performance Practice. After they had worked together a lot for several chamber music projects they decided to specialize themselves on the music for obligate harpsichord and flute/dessus: This repertoire is a milestone in the history of composition and genre and as it is still quite unknown they would
like to bring it to the audience, thus broadening the understanding of the music of the Baroque
era, especially for the subsequent style periods. Thereby name Due Oratori tells that musicians
strive to perform this very emotional music with attention towards a good presentation of
affects according to the principles of rhetoric.
