“This diversity of modes, melodies, consonances and duly proportioned rhythms, together with many other beauties are found by musicians on the vihuela, united in one, and more perfectly than any other instrument. For from the vihuela comes the most perfect and deepest music, the gentlest and sweetest concord, that which most pleases the ear and enlivens the mind; moreover, that of greatest efficacy, which most moves and ignites the soul of those who hear it.. ” E. de Valderrábano, Silva de Sirenas (1547)

The enigmatic character of vihuela makes us fall easily seduced and hypnotized by the beauty of the pristine sound of this instrument and it’s magnificent repertoire.
